LET US GIVE THANKS

Thanksgiving like every other holiday is always full of family, friends and most importantly...FOOD!! For my mom's dinner I was assigned dessert so I selected a dessert by thee almight Ina Garten it was an extremely massive dose of butter and pecans!! I'm talking an entire pound of pecans to go along with over two pounds of butter, this dessert was not only a heart attack waiting to happen, but also labor intensive. It took me over two hours to put this together, which after I finally finished I decided that unless you have a kitchen aid mixer...baking is not fun. In the end though I was proud to call this my dessert and to be able to share it with everyone. For Gavin's parents dinner I got off pretty easily all I had to do was bring a salad of choice, so I threw together some spinach leaves, fresh strawberries and a homemade dressing made with honey, lemon, lemon zest, olive oil blended.

I love Thanksgiving and that it's a time to really relish what it is that is most important to you and being able to surround yourself with the people that mean most to you. To my family and friends Gavin and I love you and are grateful to have all of you in our lives.
