Disneyland 2010

Disneyland was our first official family vacation!! Gavin and I have been on a ton of trips together which is always a good time, but being able to take our kids on a vacation and make it all about them was so much fun. My mother is a god-send and let us use her Yukon so the kids were comfortable for the most part during the entire drive there. We left at about 8 pm and drove straight to California, stopping in Vegas so the kids could experience the lights for the first time. We arrived in smoggy California at about 6 am! Gavin and I were so tired and we couldn't check into our hotel until 3 pm, so we each took a 5-hour shot and well I was good to go, Gavin was still pretty tired from the all-nighter. Disneyland opened at 9 am, and that's when our vacation started. Our first day there was a Thursday so lines were not much of an issue the weather was comfortable in the mid-70's no rain just sunshine! I must say Disneyland and California Adventure are not exactly a relaxing good -time vacation at all, it is exhausting walking and walking from one part of the park to the next. We were there for four days, so we had plenty of time to explore and take it all in, we took the kids back to the hotel every afternoon and made them lunch and had them take a rest so we could head back to the park and have fun minus whiny kids. In mine and Gavin's opinions California Adventure was the best part, it is aimed for older kids and adults and the pier feel it has is awesome. I also thought it was awesome all of the shows that they had, it was a nice break from rides and different form of entertainment. I must say that the Aladdin show was the best of all, that Genie they have in the show is quite the entertainer even the kids thought he was hilarious. So we had a great four-day vacation at Disneyland and California Adventure with a stop off at Newport Beach, it was a great time and I'm so happy we were finally able to take our kids and make memories with them.

We are in no rush to return to Disneyland, however we may be crazy because we are headed to DisneyWorld next April for an entire eight days!! I hope to do more relaxing by the pool during that trip. :)

Day one, Aspen doesn't want to smile because the sun is in her face.
That's better mom got them to look in the opposite direction of the sunshine.
Great looking kids, if I do say so myself :)
Ugh the walking, oh the walking.

Loved everything about Fantasy Land and all of the Alice in Wonderland decorations and rides they had.

The kids wanted to do a zany pose with the Mad Hatter
He didn't give them what they wanted, so this is for you Mad Hatter!!

"It's a Small World"

Princess Belle
Princess Jasmine.
Princess Sleeping Beauty

Another picture Aspen would not smile in. And another...

Oh, here we go there's the smile!
Love Hopper, love Bug's Life.
The chipmunks were so funny, Hunter and Madi loved being able to hang out with them and be silly for a while. Aspen was not in the mood.
She's starting to cheer up a bit finally.
Bug's Life 3-D show, this was a lot of fun.

A night at California Adventure, I loved it!
There's that stupid sun in Aspen's face again.

I love this picture of the kids.
Very pretty.
Ariel's Grotto
Silly faces while we waited for Gavin and Hunter to come back from the ride California Screamer.
The Ferris Wheel, I think Madi thought we were going to fly off for sure.
Alas, the beach, it wasn't the warmest of days but that doesn't phase kids at all they thought the ocean was the coolest place.

You always have to get buried in the sand, it's a tradition.
